Worktable Wednesday: More Acrylics and Mixed Media

Admittedly, these are photos from Tuesday. But it is posted on a Wednesday, so this counts, don’t you think? Posting this series on a Wednesday with pictures from Tuesday somehow works better for me, so I’ll stick to it, probably. Mondays are always slow for me, while Tuesdays usually work well – because all the boring stuff got done on Monday.

The day started with mailing out a book, and most of the rest of the day was spent happily with working on my lace book, preparing sheets, pages, backgrounds, and so on with acrylics. – And my workspace immediately looks less tidy.

O.k., dies sind Fotos von Dienstag, nicht von Mittwoch. Aber ich denke, so werde ich das demnächst mit meinem Worktable Wednesday halten: Irgendwie scheint es, dass ich Dienstags interessantere Dinge zu erzählen habe.

Mein gestriger Arbeitstag hat damit angefangen, dass ich eines der Mini “Du bist min” Büchlein in die Post gebracht habe, und dann habe ich mich wieder meinem Projekt mit Spitze zugewandt. Immernoch pantsche ich dabei mit Acrylfarben.

Then the door bell rang, and look what the postman brought me: Three full cowhides, a gift from my sister and her husband. They asked me the other day, whether I could use some leather they once ordered as trade samples, still had, and don’t know what to do with it. I said that sure I would find a use, and expected to receive a package with small leather scraps. Wow! I guess I will be making a lot of limp leather journals again in the next time.

Und dann klingelte es an der Tür, und ich nahm ein Paket mit dem Inhalt oben in Empfang: Drei komplette Kuhhäute. Meine Schwester hatte mich einige Tage vorher gefragt, ob ich Interesse an Leder hätte. Ihr Mann hätte mal einige Lederproben bestellt, und wüsste nicht, was er jetzt damit anfangen sollte. “Klar,” habe ich gesagt, “damit kann ich bestimmt was anfangen.” und habe ein Paket mit Problem, vielleicht wie Teppichfliesen erwartet. Und dann habe ich das hier bekommen. – Danke!

Dann werde ich wohl in nächster Zeit wieder mehr Ledertagebücher machen.

Do check out the user’s other videos. I used his acrylic transfer method, too, and find it works well. It isn’t as easy as he makes it look. But after some training, I am very satisfied with the method.

Das oben ist einer meiner Hintergründe, die ich dann am Nachmittag erzeugt habe. So einen Effekt bekommt man mit der Kombination on Acrylfarben und Alkohol hin. Ich habe das von dem Video gelernt, das ich unten eingebunden habe. Schaut euch mal die anderen Videos von dem user an! Da ist viel interessantes dabei. Zum Beispiel habe ich von ihm auch die Methoden für den Bildtransfer gelernt, die ich ebenfalls für dieses Projekt benutze.
