After I got my new camera a few months ago, I experimented a little with motion blurriness. One of the images is the one on the left. Definitely not a good photo, but I like the softness of the blur, and especially the colors, the dark red wine against the red background, and the blue tint the thick part of the glass has.
I wanted to experiment more with irregular lenses then, but somehow never found the leisure and time to do so.
Recently I ordered sun printing sheets. – I read about them on Amanda‘s blog (click here to see her post back then), and couldn’t get them out of my mind. Initially I planned to use them on the BEST collaborative art project, but they reached me too late, namely yesterday. The immediate idea was to use the collected glass thingies to try how the lenses would turn out as blueprints. You can see here first attempts.
Vor kurzem habe ich mir ein “Sunprint Kit” bei der Uni Berkely bestellt. Es ist wohl eigentlich für Kinder und Kunsterziehung gedacht (gewesen?) aber die leichte Anwendung machte es sehr beliebt auch unter Künstlern. Es handelt sich dabei um ein Blaudruckverfahren, bei dem das Papier einfach unter fließendem Wasser entwickelt und fixiert wird. Auf Flickr gibt’s eine Menge interessanter Bilder damit zu sehen. Im Folgenden zeige ich meine ersten drei Versuche vor. Der nächste Plan ist, auszuprobieren, ob das Papier in einer Lochkamera wohl was taugt. Ich fürche fast, dass das nicht funktionieren wird. Eigentlich ist gerade des interessante an dieser Art der Reproduktion, dass man Kontaktabzüge macht. Das Ding das man abbilden will, also in direkten Kontakt mit dem Fotopapier gebracht wird, und eine Kamera ist ja nun genau das Gegenteil davon.
Aber einen Versuch ist’s wert, und ich könnte mir vorstellen, dass das interessant aussehen könnte. Falls es war wird, werdet ihr wieder davon hören!
