Ich war ein bisschen still in den letzten Wochen, aber nicht ganz untätig. Heute sind diese zwei Bücher fertig geworden, und warten in meinem Etsy-Shop darauf, dass sie gekauft und gefüllt werden.
Die Bücher verbindet, dass sie nicht normal blanke Seiten haben, sondern sozusagen vorgrundiert sind: Das nimmt die Angst for der leeren Seite (hoffentlich) und lässt alles gleich ein bisschen edler aussehen. Außerdem sind beide koptisch gebunden und mit meinen Doppel-Kapitalbändern versehen. Da endet dann aber auch die Ähnlichkeit.
Das erste hat sehr sanfte Farbtöne, ist innen recht zart mit stark verdünnter schwarzer und rosaner (Carminer) Tinte verziert, und eignet sich meiner Meinung nach auch am besten dazu, mit Tinte beschrieben zu werden. – Obwohl alle Stifte gut funktionieren, die ich ausprobiert habe, auch Kulli, Bleistift und Filzstift.
Das Teebuch sieht erdiger, wärmer und kräftiger aus. Das Muster auf den Seiten kommt in diesem Falle von mit Tee gefärbtem Kleister (der vor dem Binden natürlich abgewaschen wurde). Mit Tinte lässt sich schlecht auf den Seiten schreiben, hier ist Kulli eigentlich am besten. Außerdem habe ich mit der Nähmaschine Teebeuteltütchen aufgenäht. Da passen kleine Zettelchen, Bonbonpapiere, oder Metro-Fahrkarten rein.
Ich hoffe, sie gefallen Euch! Als Trost für alle, die gerade über den Doppel-Kapitalbändern schwitzen: Ich war auch ganz außer Übung, und habe fast alle zweimal gemacht, bis sie mir gefallen haben.

I have been a little more silent than usual during the last days. But did not stop my work completely. Today I listed this two journals in my Etsy-shop. They both have individually hand decorated pages, and both are bound in a Coptic style, and are decorated with Coptic double headbands.
The first has a tender feel to it: soft tones, white and pink are on the outside. The inside pages are colored with thinned Chinese black and Carmine ink. I think it looks best when written upon with black ink, but all sorts of pens that I tried (felt-tip, ballpoint, pencil, fountain pen) worked well.
The other book has a recycled lampshade for a cover, and one of my lino print on the front – those who check my blog regularly already know this design. The inside pages are decorated with tea-colored paste, and teabag-pouches are machine sewn onto some of the pages and serve as pockets for small and thin items, like a scrap of paper.
Fro writing in this book, ballpoint pens work best, I think. Or similarly coarse looking pens. But actually everything that I tried worked (felt tip, pencil, bellpoint, ink), but I don’t recommend using ink – it simply didn’t look good.
The not-completely blank pages make everything look that bit better and give it a more finished look. I hope it also takes away this awful feeling of a blank page, staring at you.
