I want to learn to operate a letter press! Unfortunately this is one thing that I can’t learn in my studio by reading a book, so I’ll have to earn some money before I can do this.
There are many things that I want to learn, I would like to learn a whole bunch of different languages – my Dutch classes stopped, by the way, due to too few participants – I would like to learn how to make different types of paper, foremost cotton rag paper, I would like to take some art classes: drawing, and sculpture, I would like to improve my photography skills,… there are so many things that are worth the time and efford to learn them. But if I had the opportunity to choose one place and course I would like to learn to operate a letterpress. As a place I would maybe choose Minneapolis in Minnesota, or Bristol in England, or Asheville or even better Penland in North Carolina.

Ich glaub ich sollte mir in München mal eine Druckerei suchen und da genau zugucken, dass schaut ja voll spannend aus
Und die druckereieigenene Mitzekatze ist ja auch eine Schau da mitten in dem Krach…

Würde mich freuen zu hören wie’s in München zugeht. Ich weiß gar nicht konkret von einer Druckerei hier, die noch mit Hochdruck (und nicht Offsetdruck) arbeitet, obwohl ich sicher bin, dass es noch welche geben muss.Vielleicht sollte ich mich mal in Köln umhören…
Ja, ich war vor kurzem in einer Druckerei bei Haar und die hatten tatsächlich noch bestückte Setzkästen – so ein schöner Anblick und ich keine Kamera dabei …hmmm
allerdings waren alle Maschinen schon gestoppt, ich hab bloß Graupappe geholt…
Ansonsten ist hier in München Herbst..prächtig bunt und kalt
