Can You Guess What I am Illustrating? – A Give-Away

I am participating in a swap that we are holding at the book arts forum. I’ll have to finish a pamphlet until October 1st (I really hope my workbench will be there in time, and I’ll be able to make it before the deadline.) – Cathryn, turn away now and only come back next week if you don’t want to see any more about it.

After discarting several other ideas, I decided to put in content in the form of two short articles/stories, and illustrate them with my own lino cuts.

One of the stories is by a famous American and one by a famous German author. I’ll show some of the cuts here on my blog. The first one to guess one of the stories correctly will get his/her own copy of the pamphlet.

I don’t think we’ll need a set of complicated rules for this give-away. I just think it could be fun to guess around a little. Leave your guesses as comments on the blog, and do give us (the other readers and me) the impression that you are guessing, and not simply listing a lot of literature.
Should we keep it to one guess per day per person? That’s maybe too strict, but that’s the spirit.

I may be making up additional rules or extra prices as we go along, depending on whether anyone is participating at all, and how difficult this turns out.

I’m looking forward to hear your guesses! The next cut is already scheduled for tomorrow.
