I am back home now, but it will take a while until I am back to work. I entered hospital about seven and a half weeks ago, being not really ill but pregnant and with the immediate threat of a miscarriage. For another troublesome seven weeks I managed to stay pregnant (I can only recommend not to catch one of the potentially fatal and uncommon side effects of tocolytics) with the help of the amazing staff there (I am so glad to have chosen that particular hospital, and am immensely grateful to all the people who helped me there). Now I am the mother of two very small and weak premies. I am back home but my kids are still in intensive care. So you will understand that I am at the moment far from being back to work. Talk to you in about two months!
Ich bin jetzt wieder zu Hause, aber es wird noch eine Weile dauern, bis ich wieder arbeiten werde. Ich bin ja vor etwa siebeneinhalb Wochen ins Krankenhaus gegangen. Ich war nicht wirklich krank, sondern schwanger mit einer Frühgeburtstendenz zu einem Zeitpunkt, zu dem meine Kinder eine Geburt nicht hätten überleben können. Für sieben Wochen immerhin habe ich es geschafft, weiter schwanger zu sein, und nun bin ich Mutter von einem Zwillingspäärchen. Ich bin wieder zu Hause, meine beiden Kleinen sind allerdings sehr klein und schwach, und müssen weiterhin im Krankenhaus auf der Neugeborenenintensivstation behandelt werden. Jetzt gestehe ich mir selbst erstmal die Mutterschutzfrist zu, die ich mir als meine eigene Arbeitgeberin schuldig bin und melde mich in vielleicht zwei Monaten wieder.
