Some announcements and a short story

Tonight or tomorrow morning (depending on your time zone) I’ll close my shops for about a week, and it is the last chance to profit from my summer special on Etsy, where I am offering my travel journals with a worldwide free shipping deal. I’ll be leaving soon for the book arts fair in Chemnitz, and I have been busy preparing my stock, packing stuff, and fretting over the whole matter.

Just in time before the market, where I will have the opportunity to meet a lot of new people and ask them to subscribe, I decided to write a newsletter from now on. I plan to send it out about four times a year. In these newsletters I am going to feature a brief look back, provide an outlook of what I am planning to do in the next months, might offer you to order new series/editions earlier for a discount, give out other special offers and vouchers, and the like. If you want to subscribe, simply send an email to contact[at!]buechertiger.de and tell me so. I’ll be handling subscribe and unsubscribe requests by hand for now. Instead of making the newsletter bilingual, I will most probably have two lists. So let me know whether you want to be on the English or the German list.

And after the fair, I’ll be on and off vacation (Leipzig, Bayreuth, Helsinki, Tallinn) and in between we will have visitors here, so probably I won’t be blogging much in the next weeks, though I do have scheduled a few posts and I will be accessible by mail. So while I won’t be writing online a lot, hope I will be writing offline again. I mentioned before that I like to do that, and that I also wrote something in Edinburgh, a short story called Manloweighludion; I am still working on it.

Morgen früh werde ich meine Shops erst einmal schließen. Bald nämlich fahre ich los, um am Wochenende auf den Buchkunstmarkt in Chemnitz zu sein. – Und weil ich da meine Bücher mitnehme, kann man erstmal nichts online kaufen. Heute ist auch die letzte Chance, noch eines meiner Reisetagebücher mit dem Sommer Spezial auf Etsy zu kaufen, d.h. ohne Versandkosten.

Gerade noch rechtzeitig bevor ich in Chemnitz hoffentlich eine Menge Leute treffe und sie bitten kann, sich in mein Gästebuch und für den Newsletter anzumelden, habe ich beschlossen einen solchen zu schreiben. Der Plan ist etwa viermal im Jahr zu schreiben. Was soll da drin stehen? Ich denke mir, ich werde jeweils erstmal ein bisschen zurück blicken und dann einen Ausblick auf die nächste Zeit geben, evtl. anbieten, neue Serien/Editionen vorab zu einem reduzierten Preis vorzubestellen, es wird ab und an auch andere Sonderangebote geben, und ähnliches. Wenn du dich anmelden willst, kann du einfach eine entsprechende Email an contact[at!]buechertiger.de schreiben. Statt einen zweisprachigen Newsletter werde ich wohl zwei Listen machen – also sag’ mir auch, ob du den Brief auf deutsch oder englisch abonnieren möchtest. Auch Abmeldungen werde ich erstmal per Hand vornehmen.

Nach der Messe werde ich immer mal wieder im Urlaub sein oder Besuch haben, meistens erreichbar sein, aber wahrscheinlich nicht viel bloggen. Dafür werde ich hoffentlich dazu kommen, mehr offline zu schreiben. Ich habe ja schon erzählt, dass ich das gerne mache, und auch in Edinburgh geschrieben habe. – Die Geschichte, die ich da zumindest weitestgehend geschrieben habe, ist mittlerweile ein wenig geglättet, aber ich arbeite noch dran.
