Nachdem ich letztens ja schon einige Bücher in dieser Crossed Structure Bindung gemacht hatte, habe ich das ganze heute nochmal auf ein Buch mit Pappdeckeln übertragen. Vom Prinzip her, ist das hier fast das gleiche – nur anders halt. Haha!
Once again I experimented with the crossed structure binding. Now I can bind paper hardcover books with the technique. Everything is still the same except those parts that I changed, haha!
Eine der Ideen für das Crossed Structure Binding ist ja, dass die Bänder, auf die man dann die Seiten heftet, Teile des Deckels sind. Das geht in diesem Falle natürlich nicht ganz. Aber die Bänder sind jeweil an einen der Deckel nur angeklebt, und beim anderen durchgesteckt. Das ergibt insgesamt, und zusammen mit der Bindung auf einige der Bänder einen ähnlichen Effekt.
One of the ideas for the Crossed Structure Binding is that the tapes on which the pages are sewn, is part of the cover. This is of course not possible here. But I noticed that you can attach these leather strips in two ways: Either you pull them trough the board, or you only glue them on one side. So this is how I create essentially the same effect with different materials.
